Does Panda Express Take EBT?

You can use your EBT card to buy food in some restaurants.  Does Panda Express take EBT? Can you use your RMP benefits to purchase food at Panda Express? Find out below.  

What Is EBT?

EBT is an Electronic Benefits Transfer card that allows its holder to pay for food at retail stores or participating restaurants. The Restaurant Meal Program (RMP) is a government intervention food stamp that allows qualified participants to pay for food at some participating restaurants. 

Qualified participants in the RMP program are the homeless, elderly, or disabled individuals. The spouses of these categories of people also qualify for the food benefits.

Can I Pay Via EBT At Panda Express?

Currently, Panda Express is not participating in the Restaurants Meal Programs. Therefore the restaurant cannot process payment with your EBT card. Restaurants that accept EBT cards usually erect signposts in front of their restaurants. Or you may see something like “ We accept EBT.”

What Other Payment Option Can I Use At Panda Express? 

Panda Express accepts other payment options, which include the following; 

  • Debit or credit card
  • Gift card 
  • Apple Pay 
  • Samsung Pay 
  • Google Pay 

Which Restaurant Accepts EBT?

Using the EBT card to pay for your meal, the restaurants must be participating in the restaurant’s Meal Program. Panda Express is currently not participating in the program. The following restaurants can accept EBT for payment.

What Can You Purchase With EBT Card

You cannot use your EBT card to purchase some food items in retail stores. Meals that you want to sit and eat in the restaurants cannot be paid for with your EBT card. 

You can also use your EBT card to buy seeds and plants to grow your home garden food products. The government intervention food program favors home-cooked food. Below is the summary of food products that you can purchase with your EBT card.

  • Bread and cereals 
  • Poultry, fish, and meat 
  • Milk, yogurt, butter, and general dairy products 
  • Fresh or canned vegetables and fruits
